You Can’t Fix Everything

Modern technology has given us some amazing tools for editing and mixing music. We can tune vocals, replace drums, and emulate guitar amps, but that doesn’t mean we can fix everything. It doesn’t matter how expensive your microphone is or what kind of preamp and compressor you have, if you don’t recording a good performance you will not have a good recording. You should never say something like, “We will just fix that in the mix” or “I’ll fix that later”, because that can get you into trouble.
