The Recording Arts Program at DHI Announces next Session

Well, hello there! The weather down here in the hills south of Nashville has been almost fall-like the past few days. So beautiful. We just started our August session yesterday. Orientation was fun and productive. We all got to know each other, shared some Dunkin’ Donuts and then jumped right into microphone types and placement. With a class of 9 students we know each and every one will be getting Dave and Colin’s attention as much as they need for them to advance in their studies of music production.

Meanwhile, the demand and interest for this intense class in the recording arts is growing so fast, that we’ve added a SECOND fall-class already! It is slated to begin September 12th (although it’s possible that date may shift a little bit.) DHI’s accreditations are continuing to pile up, and this fact makes us very excited. Meanwhile, World-Reknowned – GRAMMY Award Winning Saxophone player, Kirk Whalum is with us this week recording his newest CD. Kirk has had an illustrious solo career, AND has played the role of “main sax man” for folks such as Barbara Streisand, Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston, to name just a few. The sounds coming out of the studio he’s in, are out of this world. CEO and Founder of Dark Horse Robin Crow, addressed the class this morning to discuss issues effecting the Music Business, and now the students are finishing up a session before lunch. All the best from all us here DHI until next time.
