Music Business Monday—How to Negotiate A Performance Agreement

How To Negotiate a Performance Agreement

In this week’s edition of Music Business Monday, Robin Crow, founder and CEO of Dark Horse Institute, talks about how to Negotiate a Performance Agreement.

Before you start booking, make sure that you have a performance agreement.

Are you looking to tour with your band and play various sized venues? Before you start booking, make sure that you have a performance agreement. A Performance Agreement is a legal document that helps make sure there’s a meeting of the minds between you and the venue regarding contracted specifics such as date, time, compensation, etc. Once you get everything in writing, you’ll want to check back with the venue and promotor before the show to make sure everyone is on the same page and that all of the final details are in place.

Remember, a solid Performance Agreement will not only help you to survive but to thrive on the road.
