How To Record an Acoustic Guitar

An acoustic guitar can some times be one of the trickiest instruments to record. There are many different factors that need to be taken into account but, the end game should always be the same; getting the best sound for the type of music you are recording. What kind of guitar will be used? What kind of room will the player be in? What kind of microphone will be used? What kind of preamp? Should we use a compressor? Should it be stereo or mono?
