Historic Ryman Auditorium Making Big Changes

Nashville, TN– In a Press Conference this morning changes to the Historic Ryman Auditorium were announced that will make the Mother Church of Country Music more accessible to tourists and visitors.  Don’t worry though the highly touted auditorium itself will remain untouched.  These changes will actually help people experience the Ryman in an all new way.

The project, only concerning the non-historic portion of the building, will include a reconfigured lobby, a special events area, additional restroom accessibility, a cafe area and a larger retail space, among other improvements. (source)

The Project sought out the opinion of country greats Vince Gill, Marty Stewart and Ricky Skaggs on how to appropriately expand it’s size and accessibility.  

The Ryman will keep a full entertainment schedule as construction begins in the near future.

The expansion is expected to cost around $14 million. The project could be complete for the 2015 CMA Music Fest.

In the past year or so the popularity and recognizability of the Ryman Skyrocketed thanks to Nashville filming in and around the building.
