Feel like giving up on your Music Dreams?

Last Friday we had a graduation where instructor/engineer extraordinaire Colin Heldt gave a speech to our graduates telling them not to give up, it will take time to make a name for yourself. This weekend I recieved this video from Dave Hagen, Instructor/Engineer/Beard Grower Extraordinaire, echoing nearly the same thing. So I felt compelled to share it with you.  Check out the video below, I’ll meet you after.

We are a school and a studio.  We see students and professionals fight with this same thing everyday.  It takes time to become what you dream of being.  The important thing is to develop in this time.   What ever that may be.  Maybe you are right out of school, maybe you have never gone to school, maybe you are in a career and can’t seem to cross over to greatness.

Today we are so demanding and impatient, that we want results NOW.  Everything is at our fingertips and we don’t want to wait.  But I challenge you to find a story of someone who starts a new career, venture or goal that hasn’t put years of work and practice in.  You won’t find it.  Justin Bieber maybe?  Well that turned out pretty good for him huh?

Every great artist, dreamer, thinker or revolutionary took their time, they were patient and they never stopped trying.

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”
-Thomas Edison

The only certain way to fail is to give up.  Until then, keep growing and keep trying.
