DHI Students To Help Launch Pilgrimage Music Festival

We’re excited to be taking part of the Pilgrimage Festival happening Sept 26-27. This is the inaugural year for the Pilgrimage and they will be leaning on our interns and students to help pull it off. Artists such as Wilco, Willie Nelson, Weezer, Dawes, Sheryl Crow, Band Of Horses, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Cage The Elephant and many more will be performing at this two-day event just outside of Nashville. Our partnership with the Pilgrimage is a great opportunity for our students and interns to gain first-hand experience working a large music festival with A-list bands. Students will be involved in stage setups, running cables and backline, artist and VIP relations and many other festival needs. These are the opportunities for hands-on experience we like to give to our students as much as possible. In this industry, you learn by doing.IMG_3361

With very few exceptions, the faculty and staff at Dark Horse Institute have all worked in the music industry (in fact, most of us still do!). We know that working at these events are where real industry connections are made. Do great work and have a great attitude during these long festival days? People that matter WILL notice.

We’re also excited about another major event happening right at our DHI studios in conjunction with the Pilgrimage Festival. Over the weekend we will be hosting The Pilgrimage Sessions. These are special in-studio performances by many of the top Pilgrimage artists. These performances will be recorded in our studios utilizing DHI equipment and select interns and students. We can’t announce who is stopping by buy rest-assured, they’re people you’ve heard of. This performances will be available for streaming on noisetrade.com and Paste Magazine’swebsite. Noisetrade will also be broadcasting live interviews via Periscope. Be sure to keep up with all the happenings this weekend on our social media channels with the official hashtag #PilgrimageSessions.
