Movies and Music: What moment is your favorite?

Music and Movies go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly.  In fact, some movies have completely revitalized and resurrected many songs.  Some of them even sold more copies after a movie than the original release.  They also Change the way you see that song forever.  Here are my Top 5 Favorite songs in Movies.

#5 Mike Oldfields: Tubular Bells (The Exorcist)

Ok, maybe It’s because I’m a huge halloween freak or the fact that this song is awesome.  Tubular Bells is the debut record album of English musician Mike Oldfield, recorded when he was 19 and released in 1973. It was the first album released by Virgin Records and an early cornerstone of the company’s success. Vivian Stanshall provided the voice of the “Master of Ceremonies” who reads off the list of instruments at the end of the first movement. The opening piano solo was used as a soundtrack to the William Friedkin film The Exorcist (released the same year) and gained considerable airplay because of the film’s success.

Not many people know the name of the song, but they know the tune!

#4 We Belong: Pat Benatar (Talladega Nights)

A great movie and a Great Scene.  The juxtoposition of the song and the moment, make it something that will forever be what I think of when I hear the song.

#3 Total Eclipse of the Heart :Bonnie Tyler (Old School)

Warning:I couldn’t find a clean clip of this, so if you want to search it go right ahead, but the language is very harsh.

#2 Bohemian Rhapsody: Queen (Wayne’s World)

This scene changed my life, I immediately ran out and bought this soundtrack since I was about 13 I hadn’t heard many of the songs before, I recall listening to Cinderella, Alice Cooper and many more all summer long.  But this one scene introduced me to queen forever making me envious of Freddie Mercury’s Voice.
#1 Elton John: Tiny Dancer (Almost Famous)

One of the greatest scenes in movie history, it could have been a cheesy sing along scene, but it means so much more…  Which of you never dreamed of touring with a band, and who has that knows the ups and downs.  This represents the power of music.  Nothing is said and all of the sudden everyone understands.
