One of the biggest misconceptions in the recording industry is that there is a right and wrong way of doing things. There is no right way. If you find something that works, even if it shouldn’t, go with it and use it. Whether you are tracking or mixing you should be confident in your methods, no matter what other engineers may say or what other methods are out there. Professional audio engineers don’t all use the same techniques and methods, they make up their own recording techniques and tricks and that is what made them successful.
